Takeover Films and Endorphin Films are pleased to announce the special avant-premiere screening of  “Jump! The World’s Greatest Streakers”, the newest documentary film from local Montreal filmmakers, Dan Emery, Mathieu Wacowich and Jon Deitcher.   

Jump! is the story of Jaume Marquet, (aka – Jimmy Jump) whose dream is to become famous by streaking across the fields of major televised sporting events around the world. Jimmy’s story opens up the doors into the eccentric world of professional sports streaking, where the world’s most famous streakers talk about what drives them to do it, the glory and the repercussions that come along with the lifestyle, and what it takes to be a true professional streaker. 

Whether it’s to try and make people laugh, spread social and political messages or advertise company logos during major televised events, streakers have become a mainstay in our culture as they disrupt, annoy, delight and entertain sports enthusiasts – this is their story. 

Shot and edited over the last 3 years, the project was a true labour of love for the filmmaking trio who traveled the world on a shoestring budget of borrowed money and personal investments in order to meet all the wild characters that make up the cast of their film. 

Takeover Films first thrilled audiences with “A Dreamer’s Day”, a short documentary film about Jimmy Jump which inspired the full length film after it won the Audience Choice Award for Favorite Short Film at it’s world premiere at the Winnipeg International Film festival in 2005. 

“Jump! The World’s Greatest Streakers” will play for one night only, Thursday November 27th, at the Corona Theatre – 2490 Notre Dame West.  Doors open at 7:30pm, film screens at 8:15pm. 

This is a free screening for the public, and the filmmakers will be in attendance.
